Lexan: 3mm or 6mm clear plastic sheeting used primarily for skylights in the roof of a unit.

Lining: interior lining of units can be done with a wide variety of materials including plywood, aluminum, and glassboard. Steel scuffliners and insulation are both popular options; see the Truck Body Buyers Guide for more application information.

Locks: locks come in an incredible variety of sizes, shapes, and configurations, depending on the application. Below are listed some of the most common lock options employed on Trivan units, but the list is by no means exhaustive. Please contact a sales representative if you have questions about a specific lock system or if you would like an alternative locking system installed in your unit.

- Bargman “Motor Home” Door Lock: a flush-mount lock requiring a 4-5/8 x 4-7/8” opening in a 1-3/8 to 2” thick door. The plate measures 5-1/4” x 5-3/8” outside and 5-1/4” x 5-7/16” inside. The inside handle projects 1-21/32” (long lock pull) or 1-1/4” (short lock pull). Recessed handle outside. The locking mechanism is actuated with an outside key or inside safety catch.

- Bulkhead Door Lock: a 2-point door lock for a sliding bulkhead door; used with an “L” handle (available in locking and non-locking models); zinc plated; 3/4” thick with 5/16” hole for square rod.

- Cabinet Latches: lift-and-turn polished chrome cabinet latches (B15).



- Chrome Freezer Lock: large handle lock, zinc casting with polished chrome finish and a chrome strike (B41).

· Release Plunger: handles for opening doors from inside of refrigerated compartments; zinc plated steel rod and plate, Safety Glow plastic handle; straight models are NSF approved for doors up to 6” thick.

- Compartment Locks: heavy-duty zinc plated compartment lock; used with a recessed T-handle to make a 1-point slam lock for toolbox doors (B14).

- Compression Cam Lock: an ideal lock for side door applications and full-swing rear doors. Cam locks are available in either zinc plated or stainless steel (all visible parts polished; keepers and cams are made of forged stainless steel for grater wear resistance) finishes and can be installed on different diameter pipes, depending on the size of the door. A recessed stainless steel cam lock is available for special applications. Non-recessed cam locks come equipped with a bridge-type keeper to prevent accidental opening and ensure safe locking operation. Note: hinged locks utilizing the cam shaft are available for applications where a conventional type of lock cannot be used. The tube is welded to hinge brackets and mounted on the door frame. When the door is closed, the hinged tube is swung around and compresses the edge of the door into the door opening. The latching mechanism for the handle is mounted on the door (B35).



- Recessed Door Locks:· 2-point deadbolt lock with recessed D-handle; used for compartments and toolboxes (B16).

· locking stainless steel recessed T-handle; used for toolbox doors (B18).

- Roll Up Door Locks:
· Max Security (MS) Lock: standard hook-and-catch lock used on Whiting roll up doors. Come equipped with a heavy-duty pall that can be secured with a padlock.
· Todco Spring Lock: optional slam lock for roll up doors that comes equipped with an inside release handle (J22).



- Two-Point Slam Lock: zinc plated slam locks with 1/4” flat or round rods, used for toolbox and compartment doors (B23).

Long Sills: steel sections running the length of the vehicle sub-frame which provide mounting locations for the vehicle body frame to the truck frame.

Louvres: a series of narrow openings punched into an aluminum panel section to serve as an outlet for heated air (i.e. a generator compartment) or to assist in air circulation (i.e. a bottle truck used to transport welding gases).
