T
Tail-Lift Loader: a wide variety of tail-lift loading platforms are available. Among the most common are conventional tail-lift loaders, rail-lift loaders, and underbody (tuckaway) loaders. For additional application information and installation considerations, please see the Truck Body Buyers Guide.
Tarp Strap: see Cargo Control Options.
Threshold Plate: a 4x8’ sheet of steel checkerplate installed over the flooring at the rear of a freight van. A threshold plate is especially useful for units that are loaded and unloaded with pallet jacks as it saves a lot of wear-and-tear and the rear threshold, thus extending the useful life of a vehicle’s flooring.
Toolboxes: storage boxes available in various shapes and sizes and manufactured out of steel or aluminum. Toolboxes can be custom designed to suit individual customer needs and can incorporate features such as louvered venting and sweep-out openings. Please see the Truck Body Buyers Guide for more information.
Translucent Roof: a single-sheet translucent fiberglass roofing material used in place of the standard 20ga aluminum roof coil. The benefit of a translucent roof is that it allows some natural light into the unit to supplement installed lighting.
Trim Channel: also known as “Tip Top” trim; a U-shaped extruded aluminum section used to trim out the interior opening of the vehicle body to the cab on cutoff vans. The trim channel slides over the body panels and any of the integral ribs and is riveted into place.
Two-One-Two Lining: standard interior lining for Trivan cutoff vans. 2-1-2 lining consists of two 2’ sections of 3/8” plywood running the length of the wall with a 1’ space between them. The lower section of plywood is mounted flush with the floor. An extruded aluminum tarp strap mounted in the center of the 1’ space can be used for securing loads. For more information on interior lining options, please see the Truck body Buyers Guide.
